The use of material "Raflon"in the lodgment of pipelines

The proposed material can be used as:

Insulating cradles

Pipe supports should make use of insulating cradles to protect a pipeline against wear resulting from pipe movement due to thermal expansion and against stray currents.

Raflon material based products can be used in electrical  submersible pumps (ESP) and sucker rod pumps (SRP) as:

• Antifriction and wear-resistant components of impellers and guide vanes

•In a pump section, i.e. (protective and intermediate) impeller bushings, bearing cages, and

•thrust bearings;

• Check valve saddles and discs;

• Antifriction, wear-resistant gas separator components: support rings, bushings,

•a feed screw, and a thrust;

•Antifriction, wear-resistant components of a submersible motor:  bushings,

•washings, and bearing cages;

•Downhole pump plunger;

•Inlet and discharge valve couples;

• Casing head stuffing boxes.

Cryogenic

The use of material "Raflon" in cryogenic and refrigerating equipment

When operating under cryogenic temperatures materials tend to change their physical and mechanical properties, i.e. yield strength increases, liability to brittle fracture forms while impact strength and ductility deteriorates.  Therefore some specific requirements apply to cryogenic materials. Such materials should have high strength, toughness, ductility, corrosion resistance, and resistance to brittle fracture.

•In shutoff valves;

•As parts of rolling/ sliding contact bearing

Turbines

The use of material "Raflon" in turbines

 

 

 

Steam turbines and pumps require the application of tribocouples that should provide sustainable operation at elevated temperatures of up to 200, e.g., tribocouples used in feed and condensate pumps in heating plants and pipework cooling circuits in NPP’s (nuclear power plants), TPP's (thermal power plants), CHP's (combined heat and power plant) and steam turbines. Tribocouples also need to meet sliding contact speed, contact pressure, friction coefficient, and short-time lubrication free operation requirements.

 

The proposed Raflon material  can be used as:

•A liner of a main bearing in a turbine generator;

•A liner of a thrust bearing in a turbine generator;

•Sliding contact bearings in feed and condensate pumps;

•Various seals on a turbine generator’s shaft;

•Flange seals;

•Cradles.

• It can be used to replace wear-intensive standard fluoroplastics based parts.

•It can be used in mobile connections in the process of engineering new equipment.

•It can be used in friction and sealing equipment operating in aggressive environments;

•It can be used as shielding and insulating materials in a reactor’s active parts.

Lubricants

Use of material "Raflon" in lubricants

The Raflon material in fragmented form (including waste generated as a result of machining the material of workpieces) can be used as a filler in:

•Antifriction lubricants for bridge sliding;

•Radiation-resistant lubricant analogs VNIINP 273, 275, and 276.
